Privacy policy

This policy explains what data Returbe collects, why, how long it is kept and how you can delete it. The data controller is [Raison sociale], reachable at [email protected].

Returbe uses YouTube API Services

Returbe uses YouTube API Services (YouTube Data API v3 and YouTube Analytics API) to show video and channel statistics. By using Returbe, you agree to be bound by the YouTube Terms of Service. Data obtained through these services is also subject to the Google Privacy Policy.

Data we collect

Your account

  • Your name, email address and profile picture, given at sign-up or by Google or Discord if you sign in with them.
  • Your password, only in hashed form if you sign up with an email.
  • Your settings: language, niche, folders, followed channels, alerts and recap preferences.

Public YouTube data

Returbe indexes public YouTube data through the YouTube Data API: video titles, thumbnails, view, like and comment counts, publish dates, channel names and subscriber counts. This data is not about your account.

Your YouTube channel (only if you connect it)

If you choose to connect your channel in "My channel", you authorize Returbe through your Google account to:

  • youtube.readonly: know which channel is yours and read its videos;
  • yt-analytics.readonly: read your channel's YouTube Analytics statistics (views, watch time, impressions, click-through rate).

Returbe never has write access to your YouTube account: it cannot publish, edit or delete anything.

Site usage

  • Anonymized usage statistics (page views, clicks) through PostHog, to improve the product.
  • The page you came from when you signed up (for example a shared link).
  • The messages you send us through the Feedback form.

How we use this data

  • To run the service: your account, searches, alerts and recap.
  • To show your channel's statistics to you only (and to your team members if you invite them).
  • To send account emails: welcome, new sign-in, password reset, and the recap if you turned it on.
  • To understand how the product is used, so we can improve it.

We do not sell your data, use it for advertising, or share it with other users.

Who we share data with

Only with the providers that run the service, and only for that:

  • Google (sign-in and YouTube API Services);
  • Discord (sign-in if you choose it, and internal notifications to the Returbe team);
  • Resend (sending emails);
  • PostHog (usage statistics);
  • our hosting provider and database.

We may also disclose data when the law requires it.

Cookies and storage on your device

Returbe sets cookies and uses your browser's local storage to:

  • keep you signed in (session cookie, required);
  • remember your language and display preferences;
  • measure site usage (PostHog).

How long we keep data

  • Account data is kept while your account exists, then deleted within 30 days of its deletion.
  • Your channel's data obtained through YouTube API Services is refreshed regularly and deleted at most 30 days after you revoke access or delete your account.
  • Indexed public YouTube data is refreshed or deleted at least every 30 days, as required by the YouTube API Services policies.

Revoking access and deleting your data

  • Disconnect YouTube: in Settings → Account, the "Disconnect YouTube" button immediately revokes Returbe's access to your Google account and deletes your channel's private statistics. You can also revoke access from your Google account permissions page.
  • Delete your account: in Settings → Account, the "Delete my account" button erases your account and all associated data, immediately. You can also email us at [email protected].

Your rights

Under the GDPR, you can access, correct, delete, restrict or object to the processing of your data, and ask for a copy of it. Email us at [email protected]. You can also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr) or your local data protection authority.

Security

Traffic is encrypted (HTTPS), passwords are hashed and Google access tokens are stored server-side, never in your browser.

Changes

If this policy changes in a meaningful way, we will tell you by email or in the app. Last updated: October 23, 2026.
