OutlierKit vs Returbe (2026): credits or unlimited outlier research?

OutlierKit vs Returbe compared: outlier and keyword research, competitor analysis, credits, MCP and prices. What each tool does best and which is cheaper for how you work.

Logan Veny

Founder of Returbe

OutlierKit and Returbe both promise the same thing: find the videos that overperform, so you can make what already works. The big difference is the business model. OutlierKit runs on credits: every search costs some. Returbe's paid plans are unlimited: browse as much as you want.

We make Returbe, so keep that in mind. OutlierKit prices and features below come from OutlierKit's pricing page as of October 29, 2026.

The short answer. Pick OutlierKit if you want keyword research and niche-wide competitor intelligence in the same tool, and you search in focused bursts. Pick Returbe if you research every day and don't want to count credits, or want MCP and a team plan for a fraction of the price.

What OutlierKit does best

  • Keyword research aimed at low-competition, high-RPM topics.
  • Outlier research and idea scoring.
  • Competitor Studio on Pro: niche-wide analysis with sponsor and comment intelligence.
  • Script and hook analysis, and Deep Research on Pro.
  • MCP and API on Pro.

The trade-off is credits. With 2 credits per outlier search, the Hobby plan's 100 credits are about 50 searches a month, and a Competitor Studio run costs 50. Top-ups are $19 per 100 credits. MCP, the API and Competitor Studio start at Pro ($99/month).

What Returbe does best

Returbe tracks about 9,800 channels around the clock and compares every video with its own channel's median views. Because the index is precomputed, browsing doesn't cost anything per search:

  • Top Videos: outliers by niche, sub-niche, long-form or Shorts, channel size, language and period.
  • Niche Finder: niches where small channels break out, with median views, estimated RPM and competition.
  • Trending Formats: title structures reused by several channels, with their multiplier.
  • "In my niche": outliers matched to your channel's fingerprint and its look-alike channels.

Top Videos filtered on True Crime: an 8.5k-subscriber channel at 214x its normal.

Where Returbe is weaker: lighter keyword research, no niche-wide sponsor or comment analysis, no API.

Head to head: outlier research

Both find overperforming videos. On OutlierKit each search costs credits, so you think before you search. On Returbe you can flip between niches, formats and channel sizes freely, and every outlier is already classified by niche, so you don't need the right keyword to find it.

Verdict: Returbe for exploration; OutlierKit is fine for targeted searches.

Head to head: niche and competitor research

Returbe's Niche Finder is dedicated to choosing a niche, with small channels as proof. OutlierKit's Competitor Studio is deeper on one niche's competitors, with sponsors and comments, but needs Pro and 50 credits per run.

Returbe's Niche Finder: a 1.6k-subscriber channel averaging 161k views per video (101x).

Verdict: Returbe to pick the niche, OutlierKit Pro to dissect it.

Head to head: keywords

OutlierKit's keyword research is the stronger of the two. Returbe's keyword search gives an opportunity score (demand vs competition, 12 months of activity, dominant channels) but isn't its focus.

Verdict: OutlierKit.

FAQ

Is Returbe a good OutlierKit alternative?

Yes, if you search a lot. OutlierKit charges credits for every action (2 per outlier or keyword search), so its Hobby plan at $49/month gives about 50 outlier searches a month. Returbe's paid plans have no credits: browse outliers, niches and channels as much as you want from €15/month. OutlierKit has stronger keyword research and a niche-wide Competitor Studio on Pro.

How much does OutlierKit cost in 2026?

OutlierKit Hobby is $49/month ($299/year) with 100 credits, Pro is $99/month ($599/year) with 500 credits, and Max is $399/month ($1,999/year) with 2,000 credits. Top-ups cost $19 for 100 credits, and there's a 30-credit free trial. Returbe has a 7-day Pro trial, Basic at €15/month, Pro at €29/month, and for agencies Agency at €79/month and Agency+ at €149/month.

How do OutlierKit credits work?

According to its pricing page, every action costs credits: 2 per outlier or keyword search, 10 per script analysis and 50 per Competitor Studio run. Returbe's paid plans don't use credits.

Do OutlierKit and Returbe work with Claude (MCP)?

Yes. OutlierKit includes MCP and an API from Pro ($99/month). Returbe includes its Claude integration (MCP) in Agency+ (€149/month), without an API.

Which is better for keyword research?

OutlierKit: its keyword research targets low-competition, high-RPM topics. Returbe has a keyword search with an opportunity score, but its strength is outliers and niche research.
